The Color Turning Warming Up With Spring
Big news friends!!!!
The Color Turning (Softdrive/New West/RED) kick off Spring with a bang, landing themselves a spot in Alternative Press' "100 Bands You Need to Know in 2010" feature (April '10 issue). In addition, The Color Turning are excited to announce their upcoming showcase at SXSW. The band will be performing on March 18th with Stone Temple Pilots at the Austin Music Hall, in support of their debut release Good Hands Bad Blood.
March 18th, 2010 The Color Turning with Stone Temple Pilots Austin Music Hall 208 Nueces St. Austin, TX 78701 7pm
"The Color Turning meet where the beauty of Sigur Ros, the forward thinking of Radiohead and the universal attraction of Coldplay intersect." - Matt Zimmerman, Emotional Punk
"If you've yet to experience The Color Turning, expect the unexpected. Pairing risk-taking rhythms with eerily enchanting melodies, Good Hands Bad Blood epitomizes musical versatility. TCT gives listeners an education in experimental rock."- Ruben Leal, Welikeit.indie
“'Awake' is another fine example of a single waiting to happen, as is ‘Doppelganger’ with it’s tub thumbing drum beat and crunchy chorus but check out ‘New Hooligan’, which is the kind of toe tapping rock song Johnny Borrell has so spectacularly failed to deliver yet believes he can write in his sleep. I tell you, these guys are a real find and are well worth your time and money. Imagine if The Doves had grown up in LA instead of Manchester and you’ll be part of the way there.” - Incendiary Magazine, October 1, 2009

SOMETHING TO BURN ANNOUNCE SPRING TOUR DATES WITH FAIR TO MIDLAND AND KARNIVOOL
September 2009 saw the release of SOMETHING TO BURN’S critically acclaimed debut album “Transitions” on Soft Drive Records, the record label founded by Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland. After playing a handful of shows last year with Stone Temple Pilots and some successful headlining shows of their own, SOMETHING TO BURN are gearing up to hit the road this spring with Fair to Midland and Karnivool. The tour starts March 23rd in San Antonio, TX and wraps up August 14th in Denver, CO.
Lead singer Greg Wayne, had the following to say about the upcoming tour: “Imagine a caged tiger...pacing back & forth...aching to get back out into the wild...dying to do what it was put on this earth to do. Well, SOMETHING TO BURN is that tiger and we are finally being set free this spring. I'd do everything I could to catch one of these shows if I were you...just sayin”
SOMETHING TO BURN – Norman (guitar), Greg Wayne (front man), and brothers Shawn (drums) and Jeff (bass) Ballard – have emerged from a pool of influences a lot deeper than your typical I-Pod shuffle button. They’ve been raised on music, not the radio, and they know how they want music to sound… And more importantly, they know how they want music to feel. From the classic rock upbringing of the Ballard twins-whose musical tastes were shaped by their seven older brothers and sisters, to Norman’s guitar god meets rhythm and blues fusion, and to the Maynard James Keenan meets Ray Charles vocal colors of Wayne, it’s all about what happens when their chemical backgrounds blend.
The music of SOMETHING TO BURN resurrects what we've been missing from our musical past, while forging boldly ahead into the future, and serves as the perfect soundtrack for the party that bridges the two. SOMETHING TO BURN bridges the gap between rock and roll’s heady past and its uncertain future on their debut album “Transitions”

Did You See This???
Just recently the guys from Something To Burn sat down with the good people from Chicks With Guns Magazine (CWGMagazine.com) for an interview.
Here's an excerpt from the article: “Something to Burn” is a refreshing dose of something different. They bring the rock, but there is much more to it than that. There are unusual artistic elements and complexities within their music that appeal to both the brain and heart. Their new album is called, “Transitions” and was recorded on Scott Weiland’s record label.

Our friends at Artist Direct caught up with Steve Scavo from The Color Turning for an awesome interview on ArtistDirect.com
An excerpt from the interview with TCT and Artist Direct:
The Color Turning are ready for the zombie apocalypse when it happens.
"Some parts on Good Hands Bad Blood sound like zombie music," laughs frontman Steve Scavo.
Good Hands certainly could serve as the soundtrack for impending zombie doom, but it's much more than that. Steve and his cohorts create ethereal, hypnotic rock that covers all kinds of dynamic soundscapes: from the soothing to the psychedelic and everything in between. Forging instrumental experimentation to strangely catchy hooks, there's a thought provoking darkness inside of The Color Turning's songs that feels utterly alive and extremely real. Good Hands Bad Blood is the best kind of thinking man's rock - it's got heart.
Steve sat down with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino for an exclusive interview about Good Hands Bad Blood and much more…

The Los Angeles quartet has given birth to a veritable rock n' roll monster with their debut, Transitions. Blending raw grunge passion with spacey tones and textures, Transitions is a sonic head-trip worth taking again and again. Massive catchy choruses cascade into crunchy riffs, as rhythms bend and break with classic bombast. It's not surprising that these four individuals are a part of the Soft Drive Records family. Run by legendary Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland, Soft Drive is exactly what an artist-run label should be—artist-centric, allowing for unbridled passion to come through on each and every album.

New Scott Weiland Music Video - "Tangle With Your Mind"
Drum Roll Please....
Today marks the release of Scott Weiland's brand new video, "Tangle With Your Mind". "Tangle" is the newest single from Weiland's solo album "Happy" In Galoshes.
This time around Scott wanted to try a new angle. He went to local film schools looking for student directors who would be interested in shooting his newest video. He found student Dennis Roberts and, well, the rest is history!
